Keep your fuel tank covered if its a see through. Sunlight is also a fuel killer when it comes to ethanol. My tank is dark gray and requires a fuel gauge. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |
A mercury mechanic just recommended the mercury fuel treatment over startron or stabil, his comment which I thought made sense is that the others are made to work in everything from boats to cars whereas your factory product is made to fit your specific type of motor. Wasn't any more expensive than the startron I was using previously so I switched.
I would bet you $ 50 bucks it's made by Gold Eagle (Sta-Bil) or Lucas...Same stuff, prettier package. Don't believe the hype !
I did not know any "fuels" were specifically made for a Mercury ! |

It looks and smells much different than stabil or startron so I don't think its the same.
I was referring to the fuel treatment not the fuel being made for mercs!!!!!!
Wake up on the wrong side of the bed or what. Just relaying info from a guy who has been merc certified for 20+ years. |

With all of the conversation on this board as well as others, I'm wondering if anyone has had a personal bad experience using ethanol blended gasoline without any after market additive and exactly what that problem was. _________________ E Pluribus Unum |

| I've been using quicksilver for years along with the mercury quickleen for the motor. No problems so far. My mechanic said, that its a good product and i should be ok with the ethanol gas issues. Like their products so far. |
