If you ever need a reason to quit smoking... 53 yrs old is awfully young.

His personality will be missed.

Definitely lived life on the edge. I thought the frigid temps would be his demise. May he rest in peace.

Fishermen's Prayer: God grant me that I may Live to fish, until my dying day,And when it comes to my last cast,I then must humbly pray,When the Lord's safe landing net,I'm peacefully asleep, That in his mercy I be judged,As big enough to keep. That was off the Discovery channel website from a fan. I slowed my drinking down now I need to quite smoking! RIP Captain!

Chantix helped me to be smoke free for almost two years now. Get the Rx from your doc, and join a support group.

Phil was the epitamy of a rough tough captain that lived his entire life fishing. I enjoyed the "reality" of his relationship with his crew and sons through the "Deadliest Catch"

May he rest in peace.

He is in the hands of THE Fisherman now. No more pain, and you can bet he will still be fishing, only from a different captains seat.

Hope he finds peace next to his father, overlooking the fishing grounds.
