|
|
Forgot to post this in my report last time. My buddy found this on our last trip down PINS a couple of weeks ago. Can anyone identify what shark it's from? He seems to think it's from the mighty Megalodon but I have my doubts. Of course, neither of us are experts in the matter.

While size-wise it is much smaller that most examples of Megalodon teeth I have seen, until someone can prove you wrong, I would run with that theory.
GREAT find
_______
A quick follow-up: Here is a really good information site about ways to ID a Megalodon tooth. You decide for yourself.

Well I'm no expert by anymeans , but based on its size if it is a megoladon it's from a juvenile , depending on how old it is it may be possible that its from a white shark _________________

Hiya!,
It has good triangle shape. Its a possible Megalodon or great white. They resymble some of the ones I have. I also have some extinct species of makos, but I dont think thats what it is. _________________ FISH ON!!,

I asked a few of my museum friends. Dr. Sue Turner of the Queensland Museum in Australia said its most likely megalodon. Excellent find. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

Very nice find. Adult megalodon teeth have been found that exceed 7 inches. I hope they are extinct! _________________ E Pluribus Unum |
