Forgot to post this in my report last time. My buddy found this on our last trip down PINS a couple of weeks ago. Can anyone identify what shark it's from? He seems to think it's from the mighty Megalodon but I have my doubts. Of course, neither of us are experts in the matter.

While size-wise it is much smaller that most examples of Megalodon teeth I have seen, until someone can prove you wrong, I would run with that theory.

GREAT find Exclamation

_______

A quick follow-up: Here is a really good information site about ways to ID a Megalodon tooth. You decide for yourself.

Well I'm no expert by anymeans , but based on its size if it is a megoladon it's from a juvenile , depending on how old it is it may be possible that its from a white shark

Hiya!,

It has good triangle shape. Its a possible Megalodon or great white. They resymble some of the ones I have. I also have some extinct species of makos, but I dont think thats what it is.

I asked a few of my museum friends. Dr. Sue Turner of the Queensland Museum in Australia said its most likely megalodon. Excellent find.

Very nice find. Adult megalodon teeth have been found that exceed 7 inches. I hope they are extinct!
