Captain, they don't know what the jungle means......I would like to explain it to them but they probably still wouldn't understand. So stand down soldier, you've thrown back more fish than they will ever catch. |
I know exactly what he means and where he's talking about. All I have to say about stuff like that is.................... Thanks!
And when are we going fishing! |

I didn't take pics or vidio yesterday when I went to Packery or Shamrock and picked up after the squids who fish the banks and leave thier trash, beer cans, soda bottles, Whataburger bags and wrappers, oh and lets not forget the Pampers. I also found their Redfish carcs thrown up behind the dunes where no "PB" guy would ever be.
I would never have said anything or pouned my chest except that somebody here has once again taken the position that those of us who have boats are less responsible than those of us who paddle.
I too don't like the trash, it is our culture here in STX that needs attention, we don't think at all when we throw trash out of our car or boat or while standing on the bank because some of us live in trash at our own homes in our own neighborhoods, little leage captains don't cleanup after they use a field for practice, smokers throw their butts out on the ground, parents don't correct thier children when they trow trash on the ground or when they graffiti others property.
Summery: it has nothing to do with boats! |

you're claiming placing in a ladies only tournament? I would be careful listing that as an accomplishment, fishMAN. |
|
there's the answer to my question, you have to be a man but yet win lady tourneys. Bleh, i'll keep my job. |
This CCA Babes on the bay Tournament was in the guides div.( that's guideing the ladies)
The only way you can get to this spot is by boat or kayak not by foot...
Once agen It's about one man trying to make a difference and encourage others to do the same. If thats not ok, WILL TO BAD..
I don't need self promotion. I do more promotions to help the sport of fishing and kayak fishing in a year then most people fish. You don't see me puting up reports & pic's of my guided trips for self promotion. |

The problem has always been in place. I have been fishing these parts for over 40 years and I have seen alot of trash. We do not need to blame any one group becuse they all do it. I know it will be hard to do but if some of these folks got caught and would get a VERY stiff fine maybe it would help. All we can do is police ourselfs and just enjoy what the godd Lord has given us a great outdoors. Go fish and enjoy but be clean. _________________ love to fish |

I just think we all need to do are part by makeing a difference and encourage others to do the same to presserve are great outdoors. |

Now that is a little different tune from the way you started this post,
"( Trash that I know was let the PB's. )" I am glad that you have changed your tune, I think this one is much more harmonious. I'm sure as was mentioned in earlier posts that all factions of fishermen or fisherladies have some responsibilty for the trash we all agree is unsightly and should be cleaned up.
I'm thinking that we should all get together, pick a spot once a month to clean up the stuff that spoils our view while we wade, paddle and motor fish our backyard. I gotta lotta deck space on my PB. we can do a handoff of trash so you don't have to paddle as hard. |
Why is it always PB's?..By the way while you canoe guys are out picking up trash and pounding you chest...the south side of the Packery Bridge
off Park Road 22 need to be cleaned up...
Mike
So you criticize someone who evidently cleaned up trash left by who he claims were PB's and pointed out more trash you were evidently unwilling to clean up. That stuff gives captains a bad name. It isn't always PB's, but it is always inconsiderate people that trash mine and your beaches. Get over the PB accusation, take his word on this instance and pick up a bag every time you launch. It's not hard to do. As for bragging, If you need to be bragged on, someone else will do it.

Your right it's not always the PB's that leave the trash it's everyone so why didn't he just say....hey guys some dumbasses left a bunch of trash at (where ever he launches) and we picked it up. Instead we get a post saying that it the PB's that are always trashing things....it's not.
By the way the area that is trashed will get cleaned as soon as the wind stops....it normally stays cleaned up but I think the canoe guys trashed it.

Not to add trash to the pile but some were on this thread? I thought he mentioned that this area is accessible by kayak and boat only. Kayakers that visit that area where trash was picked up are few and know the area. Also because of the distance we are not gonna load our kayak with beer, bait buckets, etc. Thus giving the likely hood that boaters are leaving trash. This was aimed at 1 launch site in particular not the Gulf coast. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |

How do you get that Yak to the water again
What is a Yak made of I guess if you buy your yak instead of building it out of a tree by hand then yakers are lazy polluters
Just cuz you paddle don't make you green
Let's just keep in mind that this was started by someone making an unsubstantiated comment about a group of people who have been fishing these waters for a long time.probably longer than yaks floated these waters.
This stuff creates antimosity which ends up srewing up someones day of fishing which is supposed to be fun and relaxing. |
