Looking at buying a pair of the Drake MST 3.5mm waders but not sure if they would be too much for down here I use breathables now. The EST ones are just too much @$350 compared to $249 at Academy for the MST.

I worried the same thing when I moved down here. Thought hard about buying neoprene waders, and Im glad I didn't. Other thinner materials are just fine, and you can just layer up underneath them if you think you'll feel chilly. Hodgemans are good, and so are LL Bean, they have a good warranty if they happen to leak.

One thing to consider is what type fishing you will be doing. In the surf we are in and out of the water and I wear Hodgeman Breathables more than insulated ones. BUT if I am wading deep in the bays on long wades I want those insulated ones. EVEN WITH LAYERED CLOTHING UNDERNEATH. Got hypotherma bad fishing Port Mansfield with McBride in breathables last Winter. Capt. Billy

I wore my neoprene waders all day yesterday and it was a nice warm day. I did a lot of wading in the cool water and I could feel a chill through them and they are 3.5mm. I do a lot of fishing in winter and I know you'll need neoprene.

i have breathables and they are fine for most of my yakking, but if i was wadding all day in chest deep i'd get neopreen,

best thing to do is get both and Academy always puts the cammo stuff on 1/2 off just after the new year,

just like the ones robul has

You can address all concerns/opinions directly to my beard. I have no desire to get involved. Very Happy

ltorna is a tough dude for a skinny guy. I wear neoprenes and tons of clothes under them. that way it takes several waves over the top before it soaks all the way through to me. Very Happy
