My husband and I have never been fishing for flounder, and we were wondering what the best bait is to target them? Also what time of day, or night is the best time? Im assuming to fish the bottom for them, but what are some good spots to fish for them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks Laura _________________ Live each day to the fullest |

Fish the drop-offs with live finger mullet on a moving tide on bottom.

| Fish the channel edges and any structure (rocks, poles, shell reefs) with current flowing over through or around with live small finger mullet or better yet mudminnows rigged carolina. Let em go with it for several minutes before you set the hook. Resist the urge to pull back at the first bump, give slack instead. |

Packery bridge and Packery channel are both good target areas. Fish under the bridge at the drop off. If you go to the jetty's then the 1st and 2nd guts are productive close to the rocks. Red Dot and the Causeway piers have reports of some Flounder as well. Good Luck !

Thanks Dave, we are off this weekend gonna give it a shot at packery! One more question though is it better at day or night? _________________ Live each day to the fullest |

when you are retreiving the line and it feels like you are hooked on the bottom. your not.. you have a fat flatty.. like previously mentioned give some slack.. i prefer circle hooks. no setting required but you have to keep the tension on after you feel like you are snagged. as for j hooks slack then give a good setting as the flatties have a hard mouth. typically, i just keep on reeling then the fight is on. _________________ Fish and Hunt Baby.... so tight lines and clear scopes. |
