The wife and I went out to the jetty around 9:30. There were an absolute ton of finger mullet in the 1st gut right next to the jetty when we got there. When we were walking down we saw a slot red and a monster flounder come in on the surf side about 1/2 way down. We fished both sides about 1/2 way down and at the end with live mullet free-lined, on the bottom and under a lemon rig with no takers. The wife used live shrimp to pull in a few little mangroves and a little jack. She caught a keeper mangrove just before we left out at the end about 2:00. I have a rule if its shorter than the filet knife I don't want to clean it. He was very good sauted with onion garlic and home grown basil. When we were leaving there were tons of anchovies in the surf getting blasted by skipjack. That was cool for us to see for the first time. Sorry no pics we left the camera at the house on the way out. Also the guys on the end of the north jetty were catching reds fairly regular most of the time that we were there. It always amazes me how they always know where I am and avoid that area completely _________________ Learn how to Fish Hunt and Golf then work the rest of your life to pay for it |
