FISHFIRE&SHEDIGS (Dennis & Carolyn George) and Judy and I have been down in Corpus all week. We have been down on PINS almost every day. We've had such a good time catching fish this week, only to have it come to a disastrous end this morning.
We have a timeshare at Puente Vista condos on the Island. We usually stay there three or four times a year. This morning as we were getting ready to pack for home, Dennis walked out and found both driver's side suburban doors open, with broken glass on the ground. Someone had broken into his suburban and stole almost $6,000.00 worth of fishing gear, etc. His favorite rod that was taken is an Omega rod that Nick had specially made for him with his name "FISHFIRE" on it.
I'm sure many of you know Dennis and Carolyn. Their suburban is the blue one with the shark and Breakaway decals on the side windows. Judy and I are with them a lot. Judy and Carolyn are sisters. We drive the pewter avalanche with the camper shell and a Breakaway decal on the back window.
There were surveylance cameras on the property, and they said that they got some pretty good pictures of the SOBs. Hopefully the police will catch them.
I don't post very much, so I hope that I'm not boring you with all of this extra info, but I thought that I would pass this info along to all you guys & gals who read the posts. Be careful out there.

P.S. Thank you, Skipper, for sharing in my wife's best redfish catch ever. She caught a 32 1/2" redfish this week.

I know how they feel. When they stole the boat last year, the hardest part was replacing the tackle. One of my original Stradics and a white super spook jr I caught my first topwater trout in Mansfield on.

My little one just bought me a new ss Jr.

If you need some tackle for the weekend, pm me and I'll loan you some.

I sure hate to hear this about your friend. It is a hard lesson to learn and it cost me a lot of money the first time I was broken into but now I never leave anything in my truck except in a lock box - at home or when I'm fishing. The second time I was broken into, the only consolation I had was they didn't get anything.

Sorry to see you were hit! Had the same experience at the same complex in July, tho they just punched the lock, and didn't get as much stuff. Also were caught on the security cam, but CCPD wasn't interested in pursuing, even after viewing. Did write a report for "insurance purposes". Not good for anyone that this continues!!

I live in the bluff and had my truck ransacked the other night. I lost my Costa sunglasses I bought at Roy's, my hand held GPS that had all my fishing spots noted, and my camera. I know not to leave my fishing gear to intice the little ba$t@rd$ to break in. They tore my truck apart but they did not get my multi use fishing knife or my $200.00 multi meter. I did not even call the police because #1 it was not enough cost to get back on insurance #2 I knew it would be dropped the minute the police drove away, they have bigger fish to fry. I will keep an eye out for your rod as I do the pawn shop hop regularly. Sorry for your loss.

We normally don't carry this much stuff but we had kids and grandkids that we were suppling fishing equipment for. As many of you know, my wife fishes with me so alot of this stuff was hers. Also, we and sis and brother-in-law are investing in an alarm systems. Here is a list of what was taken and we really appreciate those who visit pawn shops, keeping an eye out for our stuff. Green and beige-top opening-plastic tackle box. One left handed CURADO 201. One CURADO 300 w/ red power pro on a BREAKAWAY OMEGA w/ the name "FISHFIRE". One CURADO 200 w/ red cajun line on a BREAKAWAY ALPHA rod. THREE OTHER CURADOS on all star rods. One PENN INTERNATIONAL 975 w/ rod. THREE CALCUTTA 400'S w/ rods. TWO CALCUTTA 700'S w/ rods. A large "OPEN WATER" soft takcle bag full of handmade leaders, some shark leaders w/ 20/0 hooks. ONE CB RADIO. ONE RADAR DETECTOR. ONE GARMIN GPS. Many other misc. items that you have to wonder "What the h#*# are they gona do with that" Somehow we WILL rebound and be be ready for SHARKATHON !!!! SEE YA ON THE SAND !!! Carolyn & Dennis

Hate to here that guys. I am pretty sure we have camped with you guys behind Bob Hall. Sucks that some people don't want to work for what they get.
