My wife and I are going to be down in the Corpus area from the 20th. thru 26th./27th. of September.
Does anyone have any idea about the possibilities of doing an off shore trip, during that time frame.
We know that if there is a storm in the gulf, that will change the equation.
Do any of you think that there will be any 24 to 40 hour trips going on at that time?
if fishing inshore is all we can do, that is no problem, we are just curious about a possible tuna trip. _________________ It is impossible to speak in a manner where you can not be misunderstood. |

Thanks, I figgered that would be the biggest consideration.
Taking that into consideration, will there be any guides that do the smaller charters near shore, operating that would book 2 people, and what are the chances for say kings and smacks maybe dolphin or wahoo.
As for wahoo, how close do they come in? _________________ It is impossible to speak in a manner where you can not be misunderstood. |

Getting beyond by expertise, but I will say you never know.
They were catching sail fish at the jetties this year.
Wahoo are generalyl further out.
You can always find someone willing to take you out
Again, a lot will depend on water temperatures. |

The end of September should bring a good blackfin tuna fishery to the dock if the shrimpers make it further out to deeper water. That would be a typical target fish for that time of year. Wahoo and Dorado are also available, but this year has been a little different to date. We are seeing some rips trying to form up, this should ignite the Wahoo and Dorado bite if it continues. Typical Wahoo fishery will be at least 40 miles offshore and further if you are serious. www.REELBEAST.com
