I believe that anyone would feel the same as you do. Sometimes one has to push the feelings aside because there has to be a leader at the top of any chain of command, and thats you. There has to be someone to accept the award and everyone is happy that it is you because you don't forget those who hold up the Totem pole. Great job! Mr. Sandifer.

Great job and congrats Billy! We fished together a few years ago on a beach charter and having the opportunity to pick your brain for a day was a blessing.

So Billy says he hasn't done anything to deserve this. Right!!!! It is not just the Big Shell cleanup, but years of effort and love for Padre Island that make Billy so special. The years of knowledge he has acquired has been willingly passed along to numerous people through the years. In my opinion Billy is the unofficial "Protector and Professor of Padre Island". He has inherited this title from such wonderful people as Louis Raywalt who carried the title for many years. It is a shame that others who should aspire to that mantle (parks supervisors and certain turtle fanatics) limit themselves to their own narrow interests, overlooking the "big picture" of Padre Island.

Congratulations on an honor well deserved Billy.

your due dilegance has finally been noticed and well deserved.
too bad the toyota wont hold up to pins that well.. but it is still new..

no reason to be embarrassed, but this is a pat on your back that truely get recognition for all you years of hard work.. also this will bring alot of attention to pins in the positive mater and maybe get some more national attention on the bs that is going on as well..
