This statement from that article shows absolutely that these idiots have no clue!

Quote:
"We're especially glad to hear that the court is agreeing with the park rangers and the public who are concerned that there will be negative impacts from the (now-overturned) regulation and increased likelihood for opportunistic poaching of wildlife and increased risk of violence to the public."

Opportunistic poaching with a concealed pistol--hmm...Who exactly poaches anything with a concealed pistol made for close quarter defense? HELLO!!!

Risk of violence to the public-----The risk is less than before because the public can defend themselves against the non law abiding criminals who will carry weapons whether or not there is a law against it.

Liberals make me want to bang my head on the wall!!!!!

Another libtard social engineer judge at work again. We need to change the lifetime appointment of federal judges and make them more responsive to the majority of the people.

Oh, this is just so reassuring to know that if I encounter drug runners, mafia, or zetas on PINS and they spot me witnessing something that incriminates them, they'll be unarmed too. At worst now they'll just throw sand and shells at me. I guess I can return fire by throwing my own sand and shell back at them. I feel so much safer knowing that criminals aren't going to be packing heat on PINS anymore. Why don't we just outlaw criminals in the national parks too? I like that idea. We should outright outlaw all crimes in the USA while we're at. Why can't we all just get along a [long|bong]? Ok, gotta go. There are trees needing some love.

Criminals won't have just guns....they will have machine guns. If by chance you stumble upon drug runners on pins they won't just shoot you, they will probably cut you up into little pieces.

Sad but true.... Very Happy

Gonefishin,
Go get you one of those nifty rods and reels from Nick. Then to defend yourself you can chunk 6 oz chucks of lead at those bad guys from two or three hundred yards away. Much better than a quarter ounce of lead that is only accurate for 20 or 30 yards. Very Happy

Big Ed, if the feds have their way you won't even be able to do that, as there is a motion to ban lead in federal parks. we'll have to resort to

exactly!

lets make these same federal court judges camp on PINS by themselves during the spring drug-run season and see what they think about their rule.

Very Happy that's funny right there! seriously, do the park rangers ever search your vehicle, cause, uhm, i have a friend who rolls down pins with protection (not that kind you bunch of dirty old men!), and i wouldn't want him to get introuble.

yes i have been searched.. and of course i had nothing in the vehicle that i was not suppose to have. like always Wink . have talked to them many of times, either at camp, passing road, etc.
but our over zealous park ranger, found a spent 270 shell and he assummed i had a very nice hunting rifle in the vehicle. yeah let get some sand on it. and poach a nice skinny deer that is usually close to other campers.. and then when game warden check my fish.. will tell him that went on a hunting trip before we came fishing and i forgot to put a tag on it.. humm or have a tag with a deer lease that would back my kill. hey arent we are out of hunting season.. Confused even that would still be poaching.. well go figure..
from what i read from the law and just browsed through it..
it is allowed to possess a licensed cencealed fire arm. (concealed fire arm refers to hand gun) If the park allows it. which means the park can so choose to say you cannot carry a fire arm. just food for thought..
but that is what is being repelled.. the park still had the option of saying NO guns allowed

Between this and some of the other BS that the DOI and local PINs personel are pulling, I'm done paying for and using the park.

It's sad, because my family and I enjoy it, but I'm not going to be lending any more support to an entity that sees me as a criminal for exercising my right to take personal responsibility for my own self defense.

I regret to say it. But I am doing the same. My park pass expires next month and I will not be using it EVER again. I will use the extra gas and launch from bluffs landing from now on if I run south.. FORGET IT!!

This is what they wanted. To steer people away from the park. Well they got it!!

don't bet on that being the whole answer Robul, the park is *again* realizing that they own all the flats on the backside of the island all the way out to the ICWW from north bird to the manfield channel. PINS managment types are trying to make fishing guides buy their PINS license just to fish those waters, as they make money from federal lands.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they enforced the rest of us to buy a Bird Island Pass to fish those waters either, and its within their rights, although I think its bull-hockey.

some of the many changes coming down "from on high", I just can't wait to see what's next. Shocked Shocked Shocked

What boats to the park rangers run in the ULM other than the Century boats?

It pisses me off to no end that they claim the ULM boundries that they do...
