Trying to find a go-to spot for upcoming Third Coast Tournament has resulted in plenty of where not to go's
Yesterday before the front found me at one such spot on the backside of Mustang Island w/ Kingz as well as a bunch from Team Oso and a bunch of boats not seeming to be doing much. Fair amount of trout around, though most playing in the pewee league. Still a fun day after a couple week absence on the water due to various conflicts with my time. Managed half a limit of trout, w/ biggest at 18 and change and one rat red about the same size. Not much of a combined stringer....
Hmmm where to fish next week for BIG inches
Upside was I caught fish on Tops and my new long awaited Rainshadow rod built by Tarpon_Tamer

Yup, that was me...guess ya'll were the wet ones Strange weather that AM as we went through a few weather changes to include a nice shower, cloudy, clear slick calm and breezy Fish turned off when it went slick. Probably should have stuck it out through the rain. The norther didn't hit till later....missed opportunity. |
