CCRED, PAULM and I met for a cold day of fun, with hopes of decreasing wind and increasing temp. Neither occured, but the fish didn't seem to mind to much. We all took off in different directions, armed with radios so we could link up if anyone found the sweet spot. Only one problem w/ that strategy is it is important to know who calls in the hotspot to avoid paddling into the wind to the wrong guy Embarassed We finally got together, while Paul put the hurt on the fish all by himself (he is a bit of a loner Rolling Eyes ) as we came sliding in.

Paul had found the fish that were pretty eager, though by the time Steve and I got to them it had slowed way down. I was still feeling the pain of a multi-trip dryspell and actually broke tradition and was willing to take charity which explains Paul's 5 fish stringer below. Steve managed one out of the "spot" and one on the way to it (on a topwater no less).

We all moved up into the wind for another drift, where I finally managed to get on the board with a 22" and a 25" on my new Phoenix rod and a plum and chartruese tail that Paul gave me out of pity (thanks again).

Paul managed a few more that upgraded his string, and filled out Steve and I's limit. Pride is fine, but the fish will taste the same Very Happy

All in all a nice day, with Paul likely catching 15+ to Steve and I's two apiece---Paul is back "on" after a few tough trips.

Combined catch!
