Opening weekend we hunted shamrock with great results! First group in saturday was spoonies dropped one and considered that quite a bonus. We got a 4 man limit of redheads, with spoonie and widgeon hens as kickers! Great day! Saturday evening went out with the significant other didnt even fire a shot. Got a ticket for being one lifejscket short left mine in the back of the truck Crying or Very sad While getting a safety lesson about drowning in 6" of water the wardens were nice to ask were my truck was but wouldnt go get the other PDF so we could safely travel back the 300 yards to my truck. Thought that was stupid had a nice little chat with them got my ticket while ducks were flying into the spread. Twisted Evil They left and we just packed it up and safely made the journey across wilsons cut without drowning. Sunday AM hunting was great! This time with our pdf's on no one drowned in 6" of water. We ended up with a 3 man limit of redheads and 2 pintails. So all in all it was a great opener now I just have to go pay a fine instead of buying more lifejackets . Rolling Eyes Jason Slocum

Glad to hear someone got into 'em. That sucks about the life vest. I got a ticket last year because i'd left my Hunter's Ed card in my wallet in my car. I got lucky, though, and didn't get fined. Good lesson, though. Had to drive to Houston to help with a friends move so didn't get to hunt sunday afternoon or monday, but I'm thinking about heading up to Shamrock this afternoon. Anyone interested?

Missed Saturday I was putting the blind on my boat and waiting for my brother and Dad to get in from Arkansas.

Sunday we killed a limit of reds and pins.

Monday 6 reds same thing this am with a greenwing mixed in. The bonus yesterday was watching a group of does come up out of the brush walk down the shore turn with the wind walk out into the LM down the bank in the water then leapp back into the brush.... 3 minutes later a very confused and perplexed coyote.

Love the out doors....

always keep a couple of those generic pfd in the boat.. do not care if they are stolen, but avoids a ticket non the less.. kids adult, it dont matter. kept a kids one in the jet ski just for that.

Had to laugh...if someone does this with the group I hunt with they receive endless grief for years to come...refer to shovelors as "sky skunks".

Great post but there’s just one problem. If you shot your limit that morning why would you be hunting that afternoon? The state and feds have set daily bag limits not a morning and afternoon limit. Just an observation, I would hate to see anyone get into trouble with the law over a post on the internet.
