Has anyone else here heard of a potential connection between Lake Padre and the canals near Whitecap? Is there anything on the web that has any details. It seems like this might help the water conditions for both systems.

Any info is appreciated.

yes, its an idea that has been kicked around for quite some time. I believe land acquisition and the $$ are the keys to making it happen.

Actually, some type of water exchange across PR22 was a requirement that it be operational 18 months after the completion of the Packery Channel. When it comes to spending money on the island our illustrious city council comes down with a terminal case of amnesia.

Just googled up the area and the closest connection would be just north of white cap and it would take quite a chunk out of some ones property on the other side of pr22.
