Got up early Saturday morning believing the weather was going to be as good as they advertized on channel 3, "well wrong" NE wind about 18 mph instead of 7mph they predicted. But the water looked fishable so I unloaded my Jetty cart and made my way to the end. Five or six foot wave were crashing over the end so I had to move back toward the parking lot. It was slow until about 9:00 am when I landed a 19" sheephead on a lemon rigged live shrimp. About that time a guy I meet from Austin landed a 15" grouper, nice. The first one I've seen this season. At about 11:00am the bite was on, 5 trout to 23", 4 Red's to 22" bunch of Snook to 18" and 1 13" mangrove snapper free-lining live shrimp... Cool

Way to go, was there thurday north side, 2 young men were tearing them up on live shrimp about 1/2 way, channel side, fat trout, and a school of sheephead.green water today pier should be good tonight

Didn't see a boat, trailer or gas guzzling 4WD in those pics. What esle does a person need as proof that if you know how to fish and pay attention to when to fish, you don't have to go far or spend much to catch fish. On the other hand, if you don't know how or when, it doesn't matter much how far you go or how much you spend.

Thank for sharing the consistent proof with all of us. Mangrove, huh? Love 'em. That's evidence of being able to set the hook before they even bite. U da man.

Did I mention that it really helps to be able tp play hooky at will from work?
