I love Packery channel... All the time I watched them build it I new some day I would be there slaying the trout around the rocks. Today was one of those days. It started out very windy but about 9am it started to slow down to a quite roar. The trout moved in the channel and I started picking them off about 6-10' from the rocks edge free-lining live shrimp. I carried eight 18"-20" trout off the Jetty at 12:30pm. Also caught a bunch of 16-17" snook that were mixed in. On the other side several guy's were battling big Jack's using 8" mullet. But I only saw one landed though... Find clear water and the trout seem to be there... Cool

OUTSTANDING REPORT, thank you TITELINE. that's what I'm talking about!

goes to show you don't need a 40K boat with a power pole and CD player to go out and catch fish. you just have to be good Cool

please next time take a picture of the snook you release.

TITELINE, congrats on the fish... We were on the South jetty and saw some action at the end of your jetty around 10:00 am.. A guy was fighting something for about a half hour then his line broke. The wind was howling when we were there too.. You are a good fisherman and correct about the clear water.... Have a great supper!!!!!

why do u seem to fish the north jetty more often than the south, what is the difference.
i actually have had more success on the south for reds more than trout

I fish the North jetty the most because of the wind directon, It's usually from the SE and the wind and waves coming into the channel forces the baitfish up against the rocks. Your right I usually do catch Red's on the south Jetty but I don't fish for Red's much until the Fall Bull run. Hope that helps... Good luck..

If the North Jetty was a boat, it would have tipped over after Titeline caught that first trout. He suddenly had lots of "friends".

I have always caught more trout on the North and Reds on the South for some reason.

Nice haul...
I've never fished Packery, guess I need to give it a shot.
Does it also have the characteristic 'spots' like the port a jetties or is it more technique than location. Of course it takes good technique to catch fish, but you know what I mean.
