4 buddies and I rented a cabin in Baffin for the weekend. Two of them had to come back up in some really thick fog to get me on friday afternoon. Thank god they did. When we got down there, trout were already making their way into the box. We got all our stuff lined up and started fishing the lights. We threw a mix of artificials, gulp and popping corks, and live shrimp and popping corks. The dink action was hot . I played fish handler and the guys wore themselves out on the fish.
After a meal of Fajitas and sausage, and a few beers (the term few used loosely), we hit the sack.
Woke up saturday morning armed with the weapon of choice, but was unable to make anything picture-worthy bite it.
One of my buddies hooked a real nice trout, but was unable to land it (and what's a story if the big one didn't get away, right?)
So after the wade, we go back for lunch. Chad puts a shrimp and popping cork together and fishes while lunch is being served. That rod goes off, and this is what he gets as his first big saltwater fish.
The fish made a couple of hard runs.
12 lbs
He also had a sheepshead that got off just before we could take pics.
We chill during the day, waiting to go on that evening wade, but the wind had other ideas. The guys decided they wanted to go drift a bit. I hung back at the cabin and they took off. I had this idea that if there were drum, I was gonna use some gulp crabs to try and get them. Unfortunately, all I got were tons of these guys.
They come back hollering about tons of redfish and that Chad had already caught and released a 32 incher. So I hop on the boat and off we go. Gulp and popping corks produce a few nice trout and this dual hookup.
That was about it. We got a bit of a late start on sunday, but still managed a few fish. The water was off color, but the fish were there.
Here's a scenery pic of Penascal Point to close it out.

Nice Report. Nice fish there. We stayed in a cabin on the Laguna Salada this weekend. I looked for you guys Saturday Afternoon, but never saw a boat on a cabin there in Pensecal. We tore up the dinks Saturday afternoon in Yarb. Wish we could of hooked up. We had one hell of a boat ride down the Rivera Channel back from Yarb in that 30 mph wind.
Who's Woodee is that? I've been wanting to try one. _________________ "Bring your friends, we'll give em' a ride in SUCK MY WAKE" |

Yeah Fly, that was us - we tried to ease in as nicely as we could. If the guys would have gotten up when I wanted them to, we might have beat you there .
That's my Woodee Nails, and it is SICK. I'm in love with it. It would have been nice to meet up with you guys, but I guess there's always next time right? _________________ Save the seagrass......Shoot some ducks |

Sweet! I was just kidding, that was a textbook approach. We all gotta share the water, and that is the way to do it! http://thirdcoastoutdoors.com/forum/index.php?topic=479.new#new _________________ http://www.thirdcoastoutdoors.com

| What a great report. The first shot looks just like you had a few beers. It has great fish with good fun and long shots of the Laguna. Primo. Thanks. |
