I was wondering if I could get some help on purchasing an all around performing casting reel for medium action. I did purchase a Shimano Curado 100dsv over the weekend. The first few casts were awesome, but after much use further into the day, I did notice some diminishing on the casting. What do you recommend from your own experience in casting reels. I'd like a dependable reel that will cast far and have a smooth retrieve. Easy maintenance is a plus. Please note that I am not belittling the Curado.

I like the new Revo and the Diawa Costal. Both good for the bays.

of all the reels I own , if I had to limit myself to one , it would be an ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 6500 C3 . INMHO

I can now afford one of the expensive rigs I keep reading about but I have an abu 5500 that has never let me down. I have recently spooled it with powerpro braid. It's inexpensive and I have used it for the last 2 1/2 years without any problems.
