Guys I have a 20 year old bottle of Tortuga rum. I propose a taste testing at either the reef or the porch on a upcoming friday night.
Got in on my first trip to P.R. and I have been saving it for a special occasion. If Dean stays south that will be the occasion. If it comes this way well... we are going to need it |

My favorite rum is Pussers. Made in Tortola. It is made from the orginal British Navy recipe that was part of the daily ration for British Navy sailors at sea for hundreds of years. The practice of a daily ration of rum was stopped about 40 years ago. A portion of the profits are given as a donation to retired sailor homes. So you can feel good that the more you drink the bigger the donation.
My favorite rum drink is called a "painkiller"
1 oz of OJ
3 oz of pineapple juice
1 oz of creme of coconut
1 to 4 oz of pussers rum
shake with ice and pour into a tall glass
grate some nutmeg on top
Have several they are very refreshing and will definately kill the pain - temporarily anyway. |
