Today I took a fellow pickleballer out fishing. He and his wife are down here in Corpus for the winter from Canada. The fishing was slow at best. Several other neighbors that went out also had the same problem with very few fish biting. As a matter of fact my son was able to see small schools of reds and trout and threw his lure right through them and they didn't even turn to look at it. Matter of fact he even drove his boat through him and they hardly moved. Anyway, back to the trip with my pickleball playing buddy. We hit the two minute honey hole and after about 5 minutes he looks into a nice fish. He fought it for a long time and when we got it in it was a 31-in red. That was the only bump that we had in an hour. Went to various other spots of different depths and finally by pita we found some fish. I picked up seven or eight trout but only one was a keeper at about 16 and a half. After we got in I cleaned the one trout that I caught and gave him a red on the half shell that I had frozen in the freezer. He was super excited about catching that red fish and I feel good being able to get him on one. That's the first red he has ever caught.

| Exactly. And then he lost it and didn't catch another fish all day trying every lure he had in his box. I offered him another tequila gold but he wanted to try his. |
