They didn't have any tags on them - clearly defective. Although I didn't send them back. Got on the water this morning around 7am, and the wind was low, although the tide was pretty high. Was still hopeful I would be able to see the tails of what I was searching for. Didn't take long, and saw the first school. It was near some posts sticking up out of the water, so I casted to the side of the school away from the posts, and immediately felt the "thump" of getting the lure hit. Unfortunately, I immediately felt a strange pressure on the line, and the line immediately broke. Must have been something down there near those posts that I got hung up on. Oh well, it happens. Wasn't 5 minutes later that I saw the 2nd school, and this time there weren't any posts next to the school, so I made the cast and set the hook. A nice 24" red came to the net:

Circled around the flats area I was in, and finally found a third school. Made a cast, got hit, but the lure came out of the fishes mouth right after I started fighting it, and of course that spooked the school - no more tails. However, I knew they couldn't be that far, so I wound up and casted as far as I could to my left and behind me where I thought they may have gone, and sure enough, "thump". Got a 23" red to the net:

About that time, I heard this noise, and I looked up and noticed that a small storm had crept up on me, and it was starting to rain. Started back towards the launch and got soaked, but it was over pretty quickly, so I thought I'd give it another whirl to see if I could get a third red, but then noticed another dark cloud approaching, so decided to call it a morning. Ended up getting rained on a little more, but as dark as the 2nd cloud looked, it ended up being pretty tame and didn't rain very hard. It wasn't as much catching as Zia or Prof. Salt regularly catch, but it was a good morning for me, even if the fish were tagless. Had the fish cleaned and was home by 10am. I might turn these short morning trips into more of a regular habit...beats exercising in my living room!

Nice fish, and mine have all been tagless too. They sure are good eating through!
