With Bluffs Marina ramp closed to us commoners, and no other non-membership based ramps in the Bluff, I’m checking in with the Corpusfishing.com braintrust for the next best and convenient alternative.

Upon launching my wife or son will drive the truck/trailer back to Tropic Isles. And at the end of the weekend they will drive said truck/trailer to a ramp to pick me up.

It appears that my options are Clem’s, Billings or Marker 37.

Is one more favorable than the other? Also, what are the ballpark launch fees? I am used to paying a $20 bill for the place that decided they no longer want our business.

Thanks for you thoughts and comments.

Don't use Marker 37 as it's usually so packed and difficult to get in and out of.
Also road is terrible back there.

We use Clem's and Billing's interchangeably depending on who's less busy and happens to have the bait I'm looking for.

Both are free.

To be honest, I almost always launch at Packery and follow the channel back. I've been blocked in at both Clem's and Marker 37 several times.

Your trailer doesn't drag on the drop off at that ramp?

Went over there the other day just to throw a line in cuz it was too packed by the bridge.

I've noticed that sharp angle drop at the top of that ramp and I don't have that much clearance

Nope, never had the problem with either boat.

hey don't keep secrets here! you know of another ramp somewhere?

I spent all day yesterday rebuilding two out of four trailer hubs in the event that we have to drag the skiff OTB and launch at Billings/Clems....I hate, hate, hate this!!

Bluff Bay Marina at 102 Jester St. does offer a some what public boat ramp. I called and was told they offer a service for $30 they unhook your trailer from your vehicle and hook up to their tractor and launch your boat for you. When you return they put your trailer in the water so you can drive your boat on to the trailer and haul it out to be hooked back up to your vehicle. they also offer unlimited launches at $75 per month. Call them at 361-400-9039 for more info. imo its still a pain in the @ss but your you're not hauling a boat otb . Also they close at 6pm so you have time constraints. Hope this helps some of you guys the inconvenience continues.
