The "hawkins person" is Kris Hawkins, a person who owned the Doc Holiday's Pawn Shops and sold them some years ago and has since spent his time in real estate, but through real estate management, due to not needing a license to represent what you control. He owns Bluff's Landing through an LLC, and originally got involved with Bluff's Landing via Spence Collins, but soon tooled Spence out of his share. The guy is evidently a predator, so beware.

As mentioned, Firefly now owns the former KOA peninsula. A few weeks ago they were selling their RV parking spaces for $100,000 each. Maybe they have since sold out.

that kid sitting there is going to get bored and quit and there will be no one around down there to run us out. just make sure to park in the street, not in the parking lot...they do have cameras

At Capt Wallace house, we use to keep our Stoner in the shed next door to be across the street from the ramp. It was cheap and was always fun to report our trip to him when we got back and listen to his stories of big trout in Baffin.
Jerry was the owner of the marina and a nice guy to do business with.
Looking back it was a blast to get ready for a 5 day trip back then. Starting with getting bars of ice somewhere i think on Ayers, then to the HEB in the Bluff. Did not buy much shrimp back then, we always pushed up all wee needed around the spoils down there. The Bait Bucket on Rodd Filed was a fun stop to pick up tackle and eat peanuts in the shell.
The good ol days are gone now replaced by dudes running South at 70 mph plus, and most all the good fishing spots covered up with fisherman by daybreak....... |
