Well the wife and i went by last Wednesday to enjoy an early dinner.
We will never set foot in this place again.
Where do you begin ....
I ordered a $ 17.00 chicken fried steak, that was the size of a jr. burger from a fast food joint, barley warm and no taste and had to push down hard on the knife to cut. The mashed potatoes that came with it were also barley warm, and served in a small bowl. No toast ???? I am Texan and have never had chicken fried steal with no Texas Toast or at least any kind of bread ?
Salad was ok if you like crotons that are soft and spongy, but good luck trying to get the waitress to bring you ranch, She finally did and it was in a micro paper vessel. Asked several times from who ever i could get their attention and finally got a couple.
My wife ordered a chicken sandwich which was cold and bland. She would not return, just wanted to leave .

Service was horrible, and we were one of two couple there, The price for this unpleasant experience $ 40.00 plus . Spent alot of cash at the original restaurant and came by boat several times, with friends and never had a complait.

Amazing! My wife and I had a similar experience just after they opened, so we just attributed it to them just getting organized, but one would think by now they were on top of everything!

well, I love the place, but I also know what I'm getting in to when I go there...never be in a hurry, and ask the chef what's good that day...he walks around all the time

Today in Taos New Mexico I got this plate of linguine with clams and the sauce was to die for. And it only cost 11 bucks. Go figure that.

Also had a big helping of fried calamari that was crispy on the outside and tender and a good tasting marinara sauce. $8

Looks like a rabbit sneezed on you plate!!!! Laughing

(Seriously, that's a fine plate of clams, especially for the price. That and the calamari, who knew you could get quality seafood in the mountains of New Mexico).

[Edited - Too bad about the review, but I've not heard too many glowing reviews yet. I had high hopes for that place. And still, they don't have their Liquor License - BYOB only???).

Give them another shot. They’re a work in progress and they really are trying to bring back the locals.

I'm hoping for their success, so we can have a place we can just walk to!

Went for the first time on 6/2, wife had The Hornet, I had Papas Feast Blackened, and an appetizer of U Peel Em's. Was $80ish and the food/service was awesome. Only complaint was the rice was a little undercooked. Went back on 6/8 with a large group (~15), service was good, food once again was great. ($105 before tip for 3 of us) They were out of oysters and hushpuppies however which was disappointing. Decided to go back 6/9 and try breakfast, food again great. One of the best Omelet's I've had locally for sure. Service was good (waitress was new, and wasn't used to the menu yet, but she did great), they were out of milk apparently, and unable to do French Toast for this reason.

All in all, 3 visits and its definitely a place we will frequent in the Bluff and continue to support. They do need to try and improve on running out of items, oysters are understandable this time of year buying local, but the other items are hard to justify. They do seem a little understaffed on the waitstaff, but we all know that its hard to get people to work noawadays. the staff they do have is clearly doing everything they can IMO.

I was in a party of four a few days ago and our only issue was the time it took for our lunch to come out. Everyone liked the food and the service was good.

My brother and sister in law go 1-2 times a week as they live 30 seconds away, they did Fathers Day Breakfast there and said it was great as usual.

Wife and I went again this morning about 8:15, just after opening. Again, food was great, and IMO the best breakfast you'll find in the Bluff, and definitely one of the better in town. $31 before tip for 2 of us, and we both left stuffed. Believe we are planning to meet my brother there tomorrow for dinner, so a group of 6 of us. So far, 2 thumbs up from myself and my family.

Went last night again, place was busy, all but 1 table was full. We had a group of 10, and everything was great,. We had a little of everything just about among us, and had no complaints. Staples Street Band was there, and we'll definitely go see them again. Had a great view of the PI fireworks as well, so that was a bonus. Guess we are becoming borderline regulars by this point lol. Added perk every time we visit is reminiscing about the past, my Great grandparents lived just South of there the Lookout sits now, and their rental property was right under the lookout. Spent many many days there as a kid, and spend many many hours fishing as a kid down there. Back before my time, that marina was owned by my family, so getting to sit there with my Dad and here him talk about memories at the same place was awesome as well.
