SIL just got a speeding ticket on PINS..
Didn't know they did that?
I thought I had heard it's 15mph even though no signs?

Anyone know what they cost to pay?

(He's new down here, but obviously should have known....)

I got one about ten years ago. How far over were you going? I was doing 35 in a 25. Think I paid $75.

So finally got the whole story... from my daughter....

Apparently 45 in a 15.. in my daughters 2WD Hyundai.. Evil or Very Mad Quite a ways down the beach.. I'm guessing $250 from what I can find online..

He was apparently late for baby duty when daughter had to go to work..

He gonna lose a portion of his @ss Saturday when I talk to him..

Since this is in a National Park, and I think a Federal violation, does this show up on your state driving record?

I do remember when I was young and stupid but... Rolling Eyes

A letter to the judge pleading for mercy usually can get the fine reduced or even the ticket dismissed. Thy hate dealing with this stuff, especially on the federal level. So if you inject into the process (like writing a letter), they want you to go away. Otherwise, they will happily rubber stamp the ticket...

There are a few signs posted. The first few miles are 15MPH and then it jumps to 25 after 3MM I think. Last year my radiator blew a plug and I had about 1/4 of the coolant I should. I was forced to speed a little to stay cool and ended up getting stopped as soon as it turned back into the 15mph zone. Luckily I was let off with a warning. All laws apply since it is technically a roadway. Dont forget your seatbelt!

it's turtle nesting season; speed limit is 15 MPH the length of the beach....

don't be so hard on the kid, as many have said, most of the locals (including myself) use the speed limit as a guide south of the 4WD sign...
