With the winds howling like they were already early this morning I just took a quick trip and went to an area that was semi blocked by the wind. The water was dirty to slightly stained. In the slightly stained water I was able to barely able to make out the sand pockets. Three my top water with a purple dropper and caught three trout the smallest was 22 and a half. Also got a 19 in red. All fished released. Stayed out for an hour only. Winds really started kicking butt and I also had chores to do. My son is coming into town from Phoenix and my grandson is getting married.

Zia, what is a purple dropper? Is it a plastic lure with about 18" of mono?

Off the screw that holds the front hook I attach an 18-in leader of fluoro and I tie on a small jig head with whatever color of soft plastic you want to use that's working that day.
