When you're retired you never know what day it is. Thought it was Friday. Went out this morning to do some fishing and all the sudden I realized oh crap it's Saturday. Boats flying every place. Wound up with this 25-in and another 20". Released the 20-in. It had beautiful coloration. Bronze color nice blue tail and five spots. Then came home dodging boats.

I am retired, also. I thought it was Monday when I was getting out of bed.

Thanks for the report, Zia...

So, it is safe to assume that there is a plethora of weekend boat traffic despite the fish kill a couple months ago?

And a PLETHORA of fish.

Live shrimp along Laguna Shores Rd today yeilded 4 slot reds (one released) and 3 slot trout (all released), and a 17 inch black drum. and a dink trout.

Next time will not release slot trout. Done my bit for conservation other than respecting TPWD size/number limits.

Not to totally hijack....

I spoke with the game wardens at the bird island boat ramp Saturday when we came back and asked about the numbers of trout they have been seeing. Apparently the rangers there have been seeing normal numbers of trout in their nets and not as many coming back to the dock, but lots of people saying they caught trout while they were out. They seemed really optimistic about the whole situation.

Now back on track... nice fish Zia! I was at bluffs today early before the rush so it wasn't me in front of your house! I had a legit parking spot haha
