Arkansas rules DO NOT APPLY IN TEXAS, and the Laguna Madre is not a US Army Corps of Engineers impoundment. _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts"

Like said above, the key is to keep it mobile, although there is no set time you can stay at anchor described. It sounds like it's up to their discretion for how long it can be in a stationary place. Kind of a gray area I guess. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

And thank god we are in Texas. The G.P.S with the drill pipe is worth anywhere from $ 35 K to $ 50 K depending on its location. So yes there are a big commodity. Just have to pay the few hundred bucks a year to maintain the permit.
Remember the triple story barge back 6 or 7 years ago, from Louisiana that guides were running a operation out of Baffin ? I was there with some other friends bidding them farewell when T.P. & W. escorting them out to the ditch to push them North where they came fro. They tried to use move it every two weeks to get around the law, but did not work.
The one i use is gone at Twin Palms. |

I can see the problem with a business. For a private citizen using it once or twice a year, I'll bet no one ever says anything, except to remind you that it can't stay in one place permanently. Maybe I'll give them a call and ask.
And you are right about Texas not being Arkansas. Arkansas has less Covid-19, seemingly more adult acting people and definitely better fishing. Mountain Home, AR is the number 2 fishing town in the country. _________________ Gary J

Coastal Arkansas is similar to coastal Kansas. _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts"

| Let's not forget the Clinton's business and political career was spawned in Arkansas. (Although Hillary was hatched in Chicago) |

And Arkansans are none to proud of Slick Willy. There is a town in Arkansas called Clinton. Coming in to the town is a billboard saying that the town has no connection to Slick, nor do they want any.
As for coastal vs mountainous, I catch more fish here than you all do there. My fish in both Bull Shoals Res. and Norfork Res. and the two river below the dam include Rainbow trout, brown trout (world record here), brook trout, cutthroat trout, Stripers, Hybrid Stripers, White bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, Spotted Kentucky bass, crappie, walleyes, all the species of catfish. All out of cool crystal clear water in lakes where you can usually see 12-15 underwater.
'
Lastly my temp today is 79 degrees. Yours isn't. All that and way less Covid-19. None of our fishing venues have been closed. Millenials here act like adults for the most part. _________________ Gary J

I think you continuously try to convince yourself you made a good move. Congratulations! Live with it. _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts"

REALLY ?
Fishing is not all about catching up there or down here. Its about saltwater fishing and the beautiful Coastal Bend with all it has to offer like the history, birds, fellow guys and gals that enjoy all it has to offer.
Might also bring up the challenges dealing with the wind, current, and going after only a targeted species for that day and boat maintenance.
Hope your happy up there in the middle of winter, when we are casting in our shorts and drinking a cold one with miles and miles to explore. |

See the best part for me is I own a home both in Center Point, Tx and in Flippin AR. IF Texans can start acting like adults, mask up and social distance and get a handle on this virus, I will be able to enjoy the best of both places. In the meantime, I'll stay in my county here where we have had a grand total of 3 positives so far. They don't tell us we can't fish anywhere we please and have city/county/state officials that also act in the citizens best interests vs their own special interest. It's quite liberating and enjoyable. _________________ Gary J
