Going down for a few days next weekend. Has any one heard of any unruly/theft/vandalism as of late leaving the vehicles there overnight for a couple of days.

The odds go up the longer were there I know. Just looking for fresh local intel. Thanks

I have been launching there and staying at the cabin, no problems as of yet. I also dont leave anything in the truck. Have another buddy that does the same thing with no issues as well

Intend to strip my truck down as usual with all the good stuff going to the cabin with us. If the do get in then they will just have some practice.

With the alternatives of Bluff's Landing and Marker 37 being available I don't understand why anyone spends a couple of days with a knot in their stomach worrying about whether some creep has broken into their truck or not. I've left my vehicle there before and have never had anything happen, but being concerned about it while you are trying to enjoy yourself kind of takes away from the fun. The difference in the amount of gasoline saved is not worth the headache. This is not to say I have not had my vehicle broken into, and the experience is very aggravating, to say the least.

There has no been any thievery in quite awhile at B.I.R. It sure is great to head south out of their to save fuel and time big time. We can make it to Twin Palms in 15 minutes. Have a great trip and dont worry about your truck and trailer.

Maybe with all the other crap going on they would be occupied with alternative motives for 4 days. Were probably going to have to come out to get construction material at least once. It will not be too bad.

Thanks for the post back guys. Will try to take a bunch of pics a throw down a great report TowBoat and Zia would be proud of!

My question with the ramp is how solid is the gravel at the launch? And has anyone seen anyone stuck or had to pull anyone out from the ramp? I drove all the way out there to launch the boat only to turn around. They've put another barrier up so you cant launch on the concrete side anymore.

It's fine. People launch there all the time. I havent seen anyone get stuck there. It's really packed down and I've never had to put it in 4x4. My buddy has a 2 wheel drive tahoe and hasn't had any issues either. It drops off quickly so you rarely need to get your tires wet,but even when you do, it's been a non issue. The barriers are for your own protection. Theres pretty good rocks on that side. I wish they would clean it up already. Anyone have information on when that will open again?
