|

Due to my very enthusiastic need to avoid shoulder replacement surgery, the kayaks sold on Marketplace yesterday. The decision was made when the wind shifted on me off of CCNAS and I had to tow the kayak back while wading. None of the kayaks were suitable for a trolling motor so they had to go.
So, it's time for more power.
Ordered this a few weeks ago off of Amazon and put a double layer of fabric on the bottom to deal with oysters and the like. Propelled by a 3.5hp Mercury, I tried it on Lake Travis yesterday. Top end is 12 mph with me and the wife. Very stable and room for a 80 qt cooler and milk crate. If the surf is flat I don't think I would have any issues beyond the breakers with it. Bonus is it fits on the kayak trailer I already have. It weighs about as much as the Prowler Big Game did.

Looks like fun John. I hope you don't have the same problem I did with keeping water out of my waders! |

Interesting. A kayak-inflatable hybrid. I like that you reinforced the bottom - great idea. The story about you towing your kayak in by hand wading, that just makes me laugh. Not at you, but just at how shallow our bays are in general LOL.
Even more interesting you can get the boat, a trolling motor, and a battery for it for about the cost of a mid-top shelf kayak. Now you've got me thinking...lol
Side question: Does this hybrid beast have to be registered under state law, or is it still considered a "kayak"? _________________ All things will pass. Have a Blessed day. |

Since I'm sticking a motor on it, registration is required. However since the offices are closed I have to wait. |

Where did you have the extra layer of fabric put on or did you do it yourself? _________________ Now that food has replaced my sex life I can't even get into my own pants!!!!!!!!

Was looking for a shop, but it was just easier to do it myself. Bought bulk adhesive off of Amazon and the fabric from the Round Rock fabric store. 1,000 Denier PVC, it's used for patio furniture and boat seats. |
