Was supposed to hit the surf today with my son but I wasn't feeling well. This cold is knocked the hell out of me. Chest and stomach hurts so much from coughing and give me a headache as well. but that being said I just couldn't sit around once it got to be late morning. About 10:45 I went out and stopped at the 2-minute honey hole. Within 10 minutes I had a limit of trout including one that when 21 and one at 25". made another couple little drifts through there and kept picking up trout, after trout, after trout. Moved to a couple other places but then the idiot boaters came out. I just came through a channel and had the channel behind me and this boat comes puttering up within easy casting distance of me. I Stick out my arms and say can't you go around I'm catching fish. He says oh I'm sorry and starts his motor back up and continues this journey in front of me. Oh well went back to my 2 minute honey hole and continued catching awesome fish. I lost count but I know I easily got over 30 keeper trout including four that were over 25 and another eight that we were better than 20. All three of these were 25 inch or better. By the way, everything was CPR. the secret today was slow, slower, and then even slower than it. I was throwing tequila and barely twitching along the bottom. Sometimes all I felt was that I had some grass snagged on my lure and it was a fish.

I saw you guys in the Jon boat. I tried to stay away from you and that other guy. Too bad that other guy didn't reciprocate

Hence the applicable term, Googan. Rolling Eyes

Good on you for a successful trout outing (like that's never happened before), another V-Ball Season (Best Ref in S. Texas! .. Believe Me... He's Yuge!!!!), and hope you shake the cold soon.

took my son out there this morning and it was one of those should have been here yesterday kind of days. We picked up several keeper size trout but nothing really to write home about. In a few areas and picked up fish here and there and then came back tried the honey hole again with minimum success. Decided to try an area a little closer to home if you can picture that and we wound up four times having double hookups. Several those were with 20in. Never got the 25 like yesterday but between the two of us we wound up with a dozen keeper trout and probably another 20 undersized. All catch and release today.

zia, your days are getting redundant - in a good way
good photo, too+

Glad you're letting these big girls go to make more little girls - the little trout eat better, anyway.
