I got the Instant Pot filled with chili makings and grabbed my ultralight rod and waders and bailed off the dock for a quick wade.
Wow, that water is deep!
Tide was so high the water was just 2 or 3 inches below the top of my waders.
Good thing it was flat calm or I would have been in trouble.
In about 30 minutes I managed to catch 5 trout up to 18 inches and a 21 inch redfish.
Have I mentioned how fun this new combo is?

Awesome! With the spring solstice and the supermoon the tides are a lot higher today

The only pic I have is of the little Yo Zuri they hit.
I already dropped one phone in the water twice this year.
Trying not to do it again.
Sweep, pause, repeat.
Trout were mostly hooked outside the mouth like they were just taking a swipe at it.
The red nearly swallowed it.

that's good to know....did you happen to notice that that behavior mainly occurred in the sand pockets?

you can show us the new outfit - I know the reel, but would like to see the rod with it.

I've had dedicated waterproof fishing cameras for 15 years. When the office added Olympus digital cameras, I bought the factory-refurb Stylus SW for around $100 because I was familiar with the software.
(before that, occasionally took out my film SLR in a bayonet bag)
My last 850 SW is still working, but the water seals are going (all the programming icons have worn off the dials).
Last summer for my b/d, gave myself the new Olympus TG-5, and it's remarkable for a pocket camera.

With good shopping, you can get the Fuji for $100.

Keep on a lanyard, and just drop them after you take your photo.

I got the Daiwa Presso and I am completely satisfied with it.
I will likely buy more in the future.

the Tica reel? pretty impressive to land a slot red with the diminutive reel.
What test line are you using?
I've landed slot reds on Penn 4200SS UL, but so far only rats (and a couple nice big specs, 22-23") on my Tica Cetus.

It's also held up well in the salt for pushing 8 years.

I have 6lb Berkley Fireline Braid on it because I seem to have lost my bulk spool of 4lb mono and nobody had any braid smaller than 6lb.
I am using 10lb mono for leader.
I have 4lb braid and mono ordered.
One for each spool.
The keeper fish have been fun and definitely take longer than on heavier gear, but I would not say it was a challenge.
I am hoping to hook something that leaves some doubt about the outcome.
Pics to follow.

Becky,
I could not tell about sand pockets.
The water was too close to my chin to be able to see into it.
And it was almost dark.
And I am short.

Tonight was almost the same as last night except for the breeze.

Was I the only person afraid to scroll over to see the entire picture of the lure fearing that he was hooked in his hand? I CANNOT stomach seeing even a picture of a hook in somebody!!!! Honestly, I shiver even hearing about it. Can't explain why.

Relax!
I can never remember to snap a picture when I hook myself.
I remember about half a second after I remove the hook and there is no way I am going to put it back just for a picture.

A little variety tonight.
Had something big hit hard and cut me off.
I will miss that little Yo Zuri. Guess I better buy them in multiples.
