Most things I can rationalize as to how they came to be on the beach, but this one left me scratching my head?!?!?!
It's too big for coyotes to drag to the water, it's missing the entire upper 1/2, the stomachs and all the hay/grass were intact, as was most of the one hindquarter still attached...... Maybe drowned in a river and washed out??? Can't see someone dumping it there, completely unprocessed.
Option 2 was the Result of an Alien Abduction, and it was deposited there after all the Alien Tests were run!!! I'm leaning towards Option 2.
(Either that, or some kid in 4H was really mad at not getting a Blue Ribbon!!)

I can see obvious canine tracks all around it, so the coyotes have at least been munching on it. But yeah, can't imagine them dragging it that far.
Who knows? Maybe the 4H kid that lost out on a blue ribbon is also a shark fisherman...cutting slivers off for bait perhaps? _________________ All things will pass. Have a Blessed day.

The tracks were from my two dogs. When I came across it, the sand was undisturbed (washed it?).

Is that the carcass north from Newport pass road?
The very same one. There were other pieces of entrails scattered about, but I never found the rest of it.

LAND SHARK
For those not old enough to remember.
Voice: [pause] Candygram.
Woman: Candygram, my foot! You get out of here before I call the police! You're the shark, and you know it!
Voice: Wait. I-I'm only a dolphin' ma'am.
Woman: A dolphin? Well...okay. [opens door]
Wow that's wild though I have seen similar bovine bodies on the beach that succumbed for various reasons. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook!
None of the above. One of the helo squadrons at NAS was having a raffle. Each person bought a square. They drew big squares in the sand with numbers. A cow was attached to a sling and dropped from 1000 ft. The square the cow landed in was the winner. The winner never came to collect their cow.
(disclaimer - the story above is entirely ficticious. No animals were actually dropped and the raffle never existed except in my mind) _________________ Gary J

"As God is my witness, I thought s/cows/turkeys/ could fly" - nope , 'cows' just does not work in that famous line. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy.
