Per John Chaney Jr's request I am posting to inform you all that John Chaney Sr passed away quietly this morning at his house is Willis, TX

Thanks for the info that is such a shame to hear. He was quite and expert and honest guy who knew his reels nine ways to Sunday. Prayers to his family and many friends.

Pardon my ignorance but it he the fella out by Tuloso Midway that worked on reels?

Quite honest when he thought repair would be difficult or not cost effective.

God bless my ol' friend John. What an old school stand up good guy. Most on here will probably remember him as a great reel repair guy and rod builder, although In our earlier careers I had the opportunity to work with him. He was an excellent pump, compressor and turbine mechanic. My thoughts and prayers to John and his family. ......cC.......aka-Smokey
