Just an update from one of my night trips to corpus. Started at cosway and the fishing was pretty active that night but I didn't see any big black drums being caught but I did land more than 10 trouts and 8 reds while I was there. Yeah all of them undersized but its good to know that they were there.
All caught on live shrimp for trouts and dead shrimp for reds. The water in the area has recently been very low. THe fish were very cold as well to the touch but I think they were eating as much as they can before another cold front hits.
So I went to bobhall and there was nothing going on and plenty of dirty water coming in that night. So no fishing to report there
So then I went to caldwell in port A and some horrible luck cause the lights were all out down the pier. I didn't feel it safe to fish in the dark so I bailed there too.
I decided to try a new spot just under the JFK near clems baits shop and the spot turned out to be really great but I did get my car stuck on this adventure. Great fishing in that area for trouts and lots of bait swimming around. I plan to try the spot again but I gotta find a better parking spot.
I saved myself but that was like 10 mins of fighting this mud/sand garbage. Be safe out there guys
Not sure about those lights at Caldwell Pier but hope they come back on. _________________ Hey that gull took your bait |

Haha, man we've all been there, stuck at one point and time. Thanks for the report! _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

Don't think of it as 'stuck', think of it as your 'new found fishing spot falling in love with you and not wanting you to leave'. Like that psycho ultra-possessive girl we had all met at some point !
But nice report and good you did find some fish for your nocturnal travels. |
