Surf cam sure shows some nice water today. Sure would like to be there this weekend. But have to work. Still cleaning city streets of brush. We will be done one of theses days, then I can fish every day.

It might look nice, but Sharkathon has just about every square inch of beach face occupied, so you ain't missing much.

Not a dig at Sharkathon, by no means. Just a beach report (from Access Rd 2 to Fish Pass Jetties, Access Rd 3 south to Newport Pass, and then thick again a few miles south of BHP). Fish on, Boys, fish on!

Surely there is some open beach in those 60 miles.

LOL! You might get a quarter mile separation between camps south of the 40mm.

Tyler, no kidding - are you serious ? I like to (need to ) get out there every other day or two, and the storms really got in my way (not to mention ruined thousands of poor souls lives) - is it really that crowded. I was going to drive out and cast a bit.

in all honesty, this year was different. the first 10 miles of PINS was relatively empty Friday when we drove by around 10 am. when you hit the little shell area camps got thicker. we stopped around the 22 mile marker and had some space to either side. maybe a little too close for a normal weekend, but hey it's sharkathon. we had a really good weekend. didn't win anything but was still a great weekend catching lots of fish.

You might be surprised if you went down how clean MOST people leave their camp sites. Plus sharkathon staff takes another day (Monday) to go pick up the beach after the tournament. MOST people fishing a CPR tourney are probably conservationally minded and don't wanna trash the place we love.

After hearing how bad the beach had been trashed after Sharkathon, I will say, this year it looked pretty "clean". Alot of trash washed in, but I didn't notice much that looked new. We drove in from around the 45 or so.

I think the big trashed out one was due to people bailing out during storm/high tide. Still no excuse.
