|

Hey guys, I was out flying for work all morning and managed to take a couple photos! My camera is not as good as Don's! But I had fun taking the pics! Lots of bait balls near the Mansfield Jetties with lots of birds working them along with 2 or 3 bay boats. As you can see from the pics, weed was better further south. You probably saw me flying down the beach this morning if you were out there. I tried to take a photo of every truck/campsite I saw, so PM me if you were down there and I will send you a pic of your truck from 500 ft AGL! Big brush fire just north of Yarborough's as well! Took some pics of Landcut and Baffin as well!
Check out the pics here:

| You know, what I found interesting is some of the structure you can see from up there. I am trying to learn to read the beach, got Nick's video and all that, but a birds-eye view helps me know what to look for. I could see some deep troughs running perpendicular to the beach. And I have only been thinking of guts running horizontal to the beach. That deeper water is a critical item to be looking for. |

very cool pics indeed, please keep them coming...
on a corny note whose got the wheel? I think I would be so fascinated with the whole experience and forget about the damn plane.
If need be do you think you could land that bad boy on the beach? Sorry if the ? seems a little surly. _________________ Cast Till it MHz

Most planes when trimmed right will pretty much fly themselves hands off. This one is sometimes copiloted by Otto the autopilot! He always good to have around--he can hold a heading and an altitude pretty good! _________________ http://www.thirdcoastoutdoors.com

I could see a couple of the wrecks really good. Its neat to see the sandbars and the color changes.
The raod to Yarborough's looked like it was in great shape, anyone been back there recently? _________________ http://www.thirdcoastoutdoors.com

Nice slide show even w/ a so/so camera. You can see a lot from 500AGL. I think the water looked pretty good compared to a couple weeks ago. Sure wish I had a 4x4 to get down to the serenity of PINS.
Thanks for the pics. |

| OK, I could probably get a good ways down in my truck. I wouldn't wanna be the one that created a problem for others. My driving skills are pretty good on record I've only been stuck twice, once on the frame (flyfishing in Alabama) and once deer hunting in west Houston inside the Addicks Dam area (Blew out the upper radiator hose). Although I have flipped a car while driving on Galveston beach way back in the day (Damn sandcastle hole). |

Haha, don't even ask how many times I've been stuck! (never in the sand though)
Smart guy! Its silly to see the non 4x4 types way down the beach! _________________ http://www.thirdcoastoutdoors.com
