Motor fixed, turned out to be a bad ignition pack on the #1 cylinder. It's been humming along nicely in the driveway for an hour now. I'll put it on the lake this evening when the temp drops below 104 for a speed test.

It's interesting that the original tested good, I'm guessing putting it under load made the difference.

Now you guys have me all paranoid about the fuel pump, so I ordered a rebuild kit just for peace of mind. Surprised

In 40+ years of working on cars/trucks I never once had an ohm test find a bad coil. Not uncommon at all. It's all about being able to test it during peak load conditions. Not sure how that could be done without spending 30 or so times the price of a new coil. Glad you nailed it!
