Seems like 2017 has been the "Year of the Trout". Well we finally found some reds the last 2 weekends.

Friday 7/7 - Found a few redfish in calf-deep water and a couple at the transition into 2-3' water on an incoming tide. These went 22" - 25"

Saturday 7/8 - light SW winds = little luck for us.

Sunday 7/9 - Ventured into the trout-infested waters of Bird Island Basin. Only 3 keepers in the 15"-16" range out of 20 caught.

Saturday 7/15 - Zero action initially until after 9am when the stiff morning breeze laid down. The calming winds made for a great day of sightcasting in clear, calf-deep water. Several missed hookups but we still managed our limit ( 22"-27" ) plus a 19" trout.

Sunday 7/16 - Tried to recreate Saturday's magic but the weather didn't cooperate. Still found a few reds in the 60 minutes we were out, but only managed a couple of missed hookups.

Forgot to mention. While cruising the flats, my wife watched a good-sized snook swim past her kayak. Must've been quite the sight.

Thanks Tommy T. I really appreciate the pics and report. Cool to hear about that snook.
