Gheenoes are great as long as you remember you're in a canoe.
They're wider and more stable than your average canoe, but not much deeper, so you're still limited by wind, of which we have no shortage.
Which Gheenoe? The 13 is just a fat little canoe. The Super 16 has a full width transom and can take a lot more power. Really stupid amount of power if you ask me. The big LT 25 is 16'x56'' and the Classic is 15'4''x44''.
They are awesome for chasing reds in the shallows, they pole pretty well, easily driven, can be towed with a small car.
The down side is, you're going to take a bath when the chop kicks up.
You can get into a used Classic or 13 for $2k with a motor and trailer if you're patient. Or you can easily spend upwards of $10k on a tricked-out LT 25.
I fish a canoe on the UGM and catch a lot of fish, especially compared to the money I spend. Some days, though, I sit at home because it's just too rough.
My advice is to be patient and find a super deal on one. use it for a few trips or a few years and sell it for exactly what you paid for it. Then use the money for a newer Gheenoe or a bigger boat. Can't really go wrong like that.

Just saw this post. Sorry to be so late but hey....I am in Florida where the Gheenoes are made.
First off...this boat is NOT a canoe. If you have ever been in a tippy 14-16' jon boat you might know a thing or two about "tippy". Gheenoes are very stable and virtually impossible to tip over even when standing two by two on the side. Yes....you can certainly fall out of one but show me a scooter rig or any other flats boat with a low freeboard and you can say the same.
Two to three foot chop on an open bay and yes....you will get a shower. Had same treatment in a Carolina Skiff, BabyCat, etc. It is better to pick your days on open water for sure.
Price point is what the market will bear. I have seen some nice LT 25's picked up reasonable and others way too much in my opinion. Used ones are hard to come by in Texas because conventional wisdom thinks(not necessarily correctly) that if it does NOT have a tunnel you can not fish out of it. So wrong but that is a debate for another day or two or three.
Lots of Gheenoes up and down the coast with a few in South Padre(a guide down there fishes the flats out of one) more in Corpus and on up the coastline. My old LT 25 is in Rockport where the current owner uses it out on Estes, Port Bay and other waters. They are easy to handle, pole or paddle ok(not superb but better than most bay boats) can zip along with anything from a 20 on up to 50(rated for 25 in most cases but in Florida they get rather stupid with the motors on some of them) can fish two without any problem and are easy on gas. You can outfit a Gheenoe with all the bells and whistles or keep it simple. Up to you and your wallet. Custom Gheenoe.com would be a better site than this to study up on the little boats. Let me know if you might want the contact info for a couple in the Rockport area.
Hopes this helps.
Mike
Also there are multiple threads on 2 Cool Fishing about the Gheenoe.

Funny you should mention Deerfield Beach. I know a guy down this way around Sebastian that is familiar with the area.
Not much happening now as I have no boat and surf is stirred up with windy conditions. I have been hunting down the pomps and they are trickey buggers. I fish mostly in the surf around Melbourne Beach down to Vero Beach where we have a condo.
Different waters here with a whole bunch of fishies that I am still learning about. Not as productive as our Texas/La waters but I am trying and learning.
Good fishing and travels to all.
