Possibly an artifact of past boat ramp agression? Or maybe somebody cut off somone else's drift, so they busted out the big guns?

And the 'Bluff misses you, Luke.

So did the bomb squad blow up the "live grenade", and if not, how did they know it was "live"???
And blocking off the road completely like that was a bit much. Being an old Infantry Soldier, I will tell you that I was completely underwhelmed when I threw my very first grenade. They don't make nearly the explosion that you see in the movies!!! Laughing Laughing

Ha! I could see that 'detonation' being incredibly anticlimactic. But a fun day for local law enforcement -- yet, I think that still ranks pretty low on the list of interesting things I've seen floating in the backyard. As a fellow beach comber, I'm sure you've seen your fair share of wacky $#@.

Hope things are peachy down in the Bluff. Grey and rainy here in Seattle, counting the days to my May CorpusFishing getaway.

We've had runoff from the Rio Grande creeping up from the south. I think it just reached the Port A jetties yesterday but I may be wrong. It should be gone by the time you get a trip together but then who knows what else it'll be.

Thats right TT, moved on from the Smithsonian to faculty/curator job at the U-dub. From one Washington to the other. I'll be doing some kayak fishing here this summer, but something tells me it just ain't the same. Would love some fishin' tips for this neck of the woods some time.

That's an awesome gig, Luke. My dad graduated from there in Mechanical Engineering in 1938. Kokanee fishing is fun and you can catch sea run cutthroat trout in Lake Sammamish. Upper Snoqualmie is fun for small rainbows, cuttbow and little brookies on flies April thru October. Steelhead in the lower Snoqualmie on jigs, ghost shrimp and corkies though I only got two fishing in s crowd at Fall City and both were natives that had to be released.

I concur Luke, the bluff also misses you. Didn't know you were up in the Northwest. thought you were still in the New York area. If you do come to the CC area send me a PM and I'll take you out sometime

Luke, Send me a pm with your address and I will send you a whole notebook about where to fish in the Seattle/Everett area. I used to live in Edmonds before I got tired of dark short days and moved to Kerrville. The book is all of my "Honey Holes" that is of no use to me any more. Not going back.

Bluff's Landing area has been quite interesting lately. FIRST: some guy trys to run his 35', Inboard, across the flats just off Pita Island. That's as far as he got. Had his boat stuck there for most of the month of March. It was finally removed.
SECOND: Just east of the Marina some drunk runs his boat up on the sand bar. After blasting sand and mud he really went berserk. That's when he pulled out a 9mm and sent his family bailing out of the boat and heading towards shore. The man WAS arrested.
Life in the Bluff...alwaysd interesting.
