It is especially hard to come by them in winter. The local piers usually have about the same thing this time of year. Specks, sand trout, black drum with oversized showing in January Feb.
I really could use some Laguna, Baffin, Packery area and Rockport reports. I know a lot of folks don't want to give up a bite. I am looking for patterns in certain areas rather than location to help those who want to get out and learn how to catch fish for themselves.
Thanks to you all! _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Having not fished in three weeks (another story there), I couldn't stand sitting around the house this afternoon with the relatively flat water showing on the surf cams and decent weather so was on the sand by 3 pm. Drove from SPJ to three miles SBH. Saw spotty dead weed SBH with no catching going on so headed to SPJ. Walked the ENTIRE length of the jetty throwing a Norton Bull Minnow in Stan's favorite color with no fish harmed and no bait evident. Did see a couple of sheephead caught but nothing else. Felt good to get sand between my toes after the three week break! _________________ HooYah!

Would love to be out this morning but for the next couple of weeks I will be moving my next to oldest brother to Schulenberg to live with my oldest brother. He used to take me fishing and watch out for me when I was knee high. Now I'm watching out for him. I'll be back to fishing soon enough and posting reports. Family first, fishing second. A big plate of fried Sheepshead and some butterflied Shrimp 🍤 sure sounds good. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| Fished Saturday afternoon. Drum were nowhere to be found when the tide was dropping out on crabs. Small trout were good on silver spoons and popping corks and live shrimp in the canals as well as along KRS in 4-6' of water. Wish I was on the water today! |

Man I hear ya... it's been boat shows and other things for me. I did sneak out the Saturday before the big blow in Matagorda and caught 2 really nice trout. Not quite the 28 + category but I'll take them anyday. 27 3/4 and a 25 on super spook.

Was down around Access Rd 2 at lunch, and it looked like a 'whiting-o-fest' from everybody on the beach! Nothing huge, but the action was steady. Surf was flat, tide was way out, and I was hoping to see some pomp action?!?! But the whiting were frisky today.
And driving was a 10, and little to no weed washing in, so you can't beat that with a stick! |

Howdy
Went down PINS today to the 24. Found about .75 mile of soft sand at the 20 but the rest was 2x4 smooth. Water was blue with blue and very clear. Small waves breaking on the first bar. Only caught Pomps! No whiting nothing else. Fish were 10 to 14 inches. Bait was frozen table shrimp no fish bites. I sucked ghost shrimp on whitecap to take along and no takers on them. Fish were just inside of the second bar.
Good luck. Tight lines. |

Slow on Tuesday 1/31 around Bird Island. Only excitement was spotting a school of drum in the 30" - 35" range. Was close enough to hear them all drumming when I finally spooked them.
