Is there anything happening at the Port A jetties? Heading in from football game tomorrow night and just checking to see if anyone is having any luck. Kings, smacks, etc. Didn't know if the kings were around or not. Thanks

Yes they had Kings at Bob Hall Pier on Tuesday for sure and quite a few in their extreme kayak tourney last Saturday!

Jetties were a little busy. We tried out at the rigs. Water was pretty and the swells were not bad. Picked up a king, smacks, trigger and blues. Saw ling but no takers. Tons of spade fish but no takers either.

How do you catch those things?

Sort of like catching sheephead, small hook with a small bit of shrimp/squid, light tackle.

Or get the spear gun out and zap 'em!

Port A South Jetty report

Weds Oct 5 - Lots of redfish being caught on the channel side with cut bait on the bottom, especially near the point. A 50+ inch Kingfish was caught near point on a 3" rattletrap around 1 o'clock. I caught a number of good sized smacks late morning.

Thurs Oct 6 - Again, lots of redfish caught on the channel side with cut bait. 2 kings were caught near the point on the gulf side near around 8 am. Both caught on rapala type diving lures.
