|
|
Anyone else bought one of the Ozark Trail Stainless Tumblers from Walmart. I read several articles that said they were made by the same company in China that makes the Yeti tumblers and are just as good. Picked up a 30oz and 20oz and I have to say that they do hold ice and hot drinks just as long as my friends Yeti's. Virtually identical to Yeti for less that 10 bucks.
Tyler, if this is verboten just chalk it up to ignorance on my part and delete my post. I just wanted to let the members in on a good deal. _________________ Now that food has replaced my sex life I can't even get into my own pants!!!!!!!!

I bought 4 (because it's the price of one yeti) and absolutely they hold temperature great. I work in a airport hanger where the temp is high and i can fill my tumbler 2 or 3 times with ambient temperature water before I need to top off with ice. "top off" meaning ice half melted. When I leave work (3:30pm) I fill with ice and then water, many times when I get in my truck in the morning their is still some ice in my tumbler for the drive to work (6am). It's not made of quality stainless steel so it may corrode in the long term if you don't clean it, but since it's something I drink from daily it gets cleaned daily. If you are looking for something to keep drinks cold for a really long time don't hesitate to buy the ozark trail. If you can find them. _________________ Grandpa always said "anything free is worth saving up for" |

Yep, they're identical to the Yeti in every way and weight the same. I also have RTIC and their dimensions are a bit different and are lighter than the Yeti and OT. Ice test I did with all three with same amount of ice cubes in each came out a wash, all 3 were the same. I use the 20oz for coffee, it's perfect. _________________ JJ |

Sounds good! I have the RTIC and the Yeti and can't notice any difference between the two. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Guys, for the price 9.74 for 30oz and 7.74 for 20oz, you cannot go wrong. This is probably the best thing Walmart has ever offered.
I agree 20oz for coffee and the 30oz for other drinks.... _________________

Only thing I can say is just to watch out for corrosion to start...need to keep them clean, but that's impossible for me on the beach. Yeti's can be beat to hell and still be good. _________________ Fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again.

Do you know they are any less quality of SS than the Yeti? I'm always suspect of any SS coming from China, Yeti or not. No pun intended!

Both advertise they are made from 18-8 (T304) stainless steel, which is the lowest grade for use in the food industry.

I have the 20 and 30 oz. OT plus their version of the Coldster (koozie).
All work as good as Yeti for a fraction of the cost.
The OT ice chest supposedly is Yeti comparable as well. But they are extremely difficult to find. |

I agree with the cups, they seem to do just fine!
I can't say the same thing about the ice chests. I got one of the small ones and tried it several times. Didnt do any better than a regular igloo, in fact maybe worse! The rubber latches also broke after probably only being opened 20 times. May have got a bad one but it went back to walmart and I won't try another one! |

Stainless does not mean it won't ever rust. Stains less. Never use steel products on stainless.....like steelwool. The iron molecules will transfer and make it worse and so on and so on. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |
