I just noticed that this would be my 2,000th post here on CF.com, so I thought I would go OT and report in from Gruene.

The Wife-Unit said I "was going to take her to see a band she missed when they played in Port A last week", so she got tickets, I used a load of travel points to get a free night in New Braunfels, and we had a spur-of-the-moment trip.

Saw Uncle Lucious at the dance hall, ate at Gristmill, and had an all around great time!!! Here is to 2,000 more posts. [And like kweber just mentioned below, "Thanks Tyler"]

Been to Gristmill, Quihi, and Herman sons many times and enjoyed it.

If you ever get a chance however go the the Flores County Store on Bandera Hwy out in the Helotes area. It is a true old time Texas Honky Tonk, and for many years featured the likes of Waylan Jennings, Willie Nelson, George Strait, etc.. In fact even today you never know what famous country singer might just show up unannounced and sing. (think Strait, Nelson, Robert Earl Keen, etc..)

A true Texas instituion. I had many great drunks there!!!!!
