Found this head around Newport Pass yesterday, sans the jaws! Not a particularly large fish, at least by mako standards. Just wondering if there was a story behind it (or if somebody had heard). Nearshore/offshore/from the beach??? Just curious.
[This is in no way a rant about dumping the carcass or the fact that the fish was kept.....More power to you]

| At least they took the meat, or most of it. Mako is one of my kayak bucket list fish ...at least a smaller one. Lost one two summers ago a few miles off the beach - it put on an unbelievable airshow before cutting my wire leader. |
