I tried one last weekend...
We wrapped red potatoes in foil with a little oil and some coarse salt amd pepper on the skin. Toss them on the edge of the fire till they're soft. When they are done add butter, pico de gallo, guacamole, whatever you want and enjoy! Easy and delicious! _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

Not sure about Whiting, but I've done a few different fish just covering in ranch and grilling them. Turns out pretty good. Reds/Drum on the halfshell works great, otherwise put the fillet on foil and grill. _________________ JJ |

Salt, pepper, butter, lemon slices, onion (also sliced), and fresh parsley if you have it. Also, fresh jalape _________________ You only live once. Do it right! |

Not sure why my reply is getting cut short. Cayenne pepper if you like it spicy. Wrap it in foil and let it go. No matter what kind of fish, you will be happy.

We do them on the 1/2 shell in old smokey cooker, I always use the spray "cant believe its not butter" salt and pepper or I use the Fiesta brand pork seasoning(HEB). Spray the fillet, and season to your preference, throw on grill till meat is flakey.
Delicious table fair.
The Grill Mat...that thing is bad @ss for cooking fish fillets/half shells. Scramble eggs..all kinds of good stuff. Easy to pack and clean.

I don't see why not, its about the thickness of a heavy paper, not quite as thick as poster board...if that makes sense. |

Wonder how the grill mat can take the heat of coals but says it's dishwasher safe top rack only? _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |
