| I need some advice on a rod. I'm looking at an American Rodsmith or an All Star. Both are 7' 12-20lb class. I need a good all around stick. Any preferences between the two? |

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I have heard great things about both. Just make sure it has the action you are looking for. _________________ Save the seagrass......Shoot some ducks |

Go to Roys and check out the G. Loomis rods before you buy. _________________ Lefty Ray

I like G. Loomis - great warranty. All-Stars are great for the price - I'd go All-Star if you can't go G. Loomis. Falcon Coastal XG is also a dang good choice. Good luck. _________________ CONSERVATION IS KEY |

My rodsmith is a beauty and has held up great. Very durable- but I agree make sure it is somehting that has the action you are looking for. This will make you more comfortable. _________________ Fish till I die |

I just picked up a referbished Rodsmith from the Academy for $29, I needed a 6'6" for topwater and it is very nice for the price.
Depends on what you want to use it for more than anything. |

Also check out the new Alpha from Breakaway. WWW.breakawayusa.com on the right hand side next to the liquor store on the island just after coming off the bridge. _________________ GOBZA!!!

| I agree with rodmanstan. Check out the Shimano rods at Roy's. I've got two and am very happy with both. Wide price range and models so you can get what you want for the long term use. |

I agree , I bought my mother one of these for tops , 6'6" , wish I had bought it for me , i've always used Allstar and loved them but the Falcon sure does feel good with a top on it ... _________________ I,d rather DIE while i,m living than LIVE while i,m dead

I don't know about you guys, but the biggest problem I have with today's rods is the ceramic rings detaching or breaking off from the guides.
Are there any of these rods that have durable guides? I have not had good luck with Shimano, All Star or Castaway. Fuji guides seem to be just as bad as any of the others. |

I had a rod built and had American Tackle Titanium guides with Nanolite rings installed , I really like these guides and will have them put on a couple of my rods when I get back ... _________________ I,d rather DIE while i,m living than LIVE while i,m dead
